Care for displaced older people

Everyone deserves
a place to
call home.

Mercy Houses offer older people displaced or left isolated by war a home, daily care, and the company of people who know them.

Mercy Houses for elderly IDPs

Safety is a start.
Belonging is a home.

For older people, displacement can mean losing both a home and the support that made daily life possible. Limited mobility, separation from family, and difficulty accessing medicine can make starting again especially hard.

LYNC’s Mercy Houses provide residential care and companionship for older people in Ukraine, including internally displaced people—people forced to leave home who remain within their own country.

Here, rebuilding is practical and personal: meals, warmth, help with daily needs, and someone nearby.

From our team

Care began with
a personal response.

In his March 2024 account, Serhii Kosiak describes seeing the conditions faced by isolated older people in Ukraine. He and his wife sold their car to begin providing hot meals. Working with LYNC, that response grew into the first Mercy House.

Serhii manages this work for LYNC, connecting compassion with the everyday needs of people affected by war.
